The front page of the Guardian June 27 1936 had a list of coming events, including the announcement “Remember to attend the Three Act Comedy “That’s One on Bill” at Clyde River Hall, Tuesday evening June 30th at 8:30″ An earlier announcement said “Clyde River Players present Three-act comedy, “That’s one on Bill.” in Clyde River Hall, June 23rd.” The same play had been done by Crapaud Players in Canoe Cove Hall in the summer of 1933, and was staged again in 1937 in French River Hall by the A. Y. P. A. St. Marks Church, Kensington. The reviews for the Clyde River production were glowing – The Clyde River Hall was filled to capacity last Tuesday evening when the three act comedy, “That’s One on Bill.” was presented by the Young People’s Society. Mr. John A Murray presided as chairman. The play was under the skillful coaching of Mrs. Arthur Roper. The players deserve much credit for the excellent manner in which they carried out their parts. The acting throughout was cleverly done, with a smoothness and expression that delighted the audience” The cast members are in the Guardian July 7 1936 page 2.
